Default Grauvell Reels????

Does anyone know anything about Grauvell Reels? I recently saw them at the Atlantic City Sportsman show (NJ). They seemed pretty nice and I can get a great price on them. The ones I was looking at had 6-11 bearings, most were graphite bodies, and aluminum spools with titanium lips. They had some bait runner models, similar to Shimano's.
They were light weight and very smooth. Any info. or opinions anyone could offer would be of great help! Thanks.

Never heard of them & there's a lot more to a reel than a good price. A new company? If the reel has a problem 12 months down the road and the company is no longer around, the sweet taste of low price will be quickly forgotten.

As far as I know the reels are European. A company in NJ is importing and distributing them. The reels are backed by a five year warranty and the NJ co. stated that I could send them back anytime for any repair. And actually, the price would warrant a break down if I got a year or two out of each reel. A $95 reel (retail) is $32, pretty close to Shimano's VIP price list, bit less.

Not sure what you are comparing? "At $32 . . . . is pretty close to Shimano's VIP price list, but less." I have a Shimano VIP price list - but Shimano has no BaitRunner close to #32. What are you comparing.

I wasn't actually trying to compare the two companies, only the price difference. I have a similar deal, like Shimano's VIP. Comparing the mark up I guess.

If the price difference is only $32, the Shimano is a proven product with great customer support. No decision in my mind.

True - tough to argue against that. What I like about these new reels is that they are more casting friendly. Shimano's Baitrunners aren't the greatest for casting, can't beat them for chunking though. I found out that Grauvells are made by Silstar for the European market, from low to high end. Figure: a Shim. Baitrunner 3500B retails for $100, VIP for $65; Grauvell Elite BR Z retails for $95 and VIP's for $35. Why not take the chance? 5 year warranty with it as well. The Grauvells look more like the Thunnus.

Fizz,
Can you shed some light on the "VIP pricing" you are talking about? Is this a wholesale price... are you a distributor? I haven't seen that term before -- how did you become elligible for VIP pricing? Thanks in advance.
