Default Help from NC boys

Has anyone got the GPS points Steeples or Blackjack Hole? I am going to run out of Wrightsville some time in the next few weeks. I would really like to try to hit those spots. Also, any help on the location of "The Fairway", near Frying Pan Shoals, would be helpful. Thanks

Actually I just reviewed the list. It may not have what you need. Here is another pretty good site: http://www.lbara.com/locations.htm .

Baileydale, I can't take credit for the list, I think I got it off of Capt Stanman's site. Figured the more we share, the better we will all do out there though.

Well, I guess I didn't get it off Capt Stanman's site afterall. I just reviewed Hot Spots links above. Looks different. Maybe I found them on www.ncwaterman.com .

Good luck,

Try the Maps unique software it is great it has more wrecks, ledges, hardbottoms, live bottoms, and more waypoints than I have ever seen it will have what you want.
I beleive that their software package has between 500 and 700 waypoints. You can also print out the maps and take them with you, as well as down loading them to your chartplotter. I just uploaded around 100 or so to my chartplotter last weekend.

Sea Witch, that one moves with the stream, along with the fish. I have found them a time or two. I can tell you how to run though. I'm usually in Ocracoke in late May. Run a 170 degree line out of Ocracoke Inlet probably 25-30 miles until you get into about 180-200 feet of water. Put your baits out. Look for the rips and grass lines. You'll be southeast of Dixie Arrow. It's usually pretty easy to find the rip or the grassline.....then, follow the yellow brick road(grass). You'll drip off quickly. I keep trolling back and forth across the break if no distinct rip or grass line. I usually don't go to the rockpile much anymore. It can be good on it, but it's dead around it.

Tiger Rag, doesn't matter where you got them...................You're the man.

I'll have to buy you a cold one or few for those coordinates.

No problem rdsrb5. Glad to share. I couldn't take credit for that list though. Someone took a lot of time putting that together, I just can't remember who. Wish I could remember exactly so I could give credit where credit is due.

Maybe you can send me some Parker's BBQ though ! Only kidding of course. Man I love that stuff.....so much so, I had them cater the rehearsal dinner party for my wedding last May at Ocracoke. When I worked in Wilson I was one of their best customers. Course, there ain't nothin' wrong with Bill's either though. Maybe we can figure out when I can take you up on that beer though.

Headed to the coast this weekend. Gonna be around Wrightsville Beach. Originally I had planned to just give the boat a spring shakedown/maintenance/work weekend. Sounds like the wind may be light and slight though Sat; 5-10 knts. Anybody gonna be down that way, give me a hollar. Maybe I can catch you on the radio and share info.

Take care,

Ok, I figured out where I got those #'s. Looks like our buddy Squid Row posted them here: http://ncwaterman.com/forum/forum_po...?TID=1154&PN=1
I believe he said they are a cut and paste version of Capt Stanman's site. BTW, there are pleenty more #'s on that NC Waterman board. So in the end, really Capt Stanman is to Thank. I thank him too.

Take care, Matt

Would anyone happen to have this list saved as a mapsource .mps file?
It would save many of us a ton of manual input time.

Also, does anyone know a way to merge two .mps files?

Thanks,

Sean

You can open both files and copy the waypoints you want from one file to the other file.
