The forecast changed overnight for Saturday. The wind never let up. So i have no report...maybe someone else braved the 5 to 7 seas.

I was down this weekend to pick up my boat and bring her back to Cary for a badly needed spring overhaul. My wife and I stayed in Beaufort, and noticed, um...a bit of wind, Saturday.

I sure as hell respect anyone making it out to Big Rock, that day.

My son and I went out Saturday and got as far as the shoals. Decided we didn't need the beating that bad, tucked tail and turned around.

Seahawg,
Was quite a ride back in on Saturday. The waves were so close together and with a head wind we ran back around 25mph to stay on top of the chop. Pretty messy!!

I braved it out until the 210 reef.... Got to where there were more 6 footers than 4's and said that's enough! Got some good bottom fishing in at the 210. Silver snapper, triggerfish, beeliners, and porgies and a 200lbs loggerhead. Thought I had a huge grouper until 15 mins later a big yellow head poped up! Took the 16 oz jig out of him and sent him on his merry way... Didn't seem to phase him much because he was back to swimming around the boat 20 mins later... Stayed at anchor until 3:30 and the wind was still blowing... Long choppy ride back in until 10 miles, when the sea got below 3. Arms and shoulders are still sore from fighting that turtle up from 100 foot...
