Default which rod holder

I currently own an 18' Mariah sx8 (yes the seafox model, but thats not the issue).. anyway I want to use my boat for some fishing this year.. Tried it last year but with no rod holders was a mess.

Does anyone have any recommendations for rod holders..preferably something portable. I have a low bowrail up front and was planning on getting some clamp ons.

It is in the back that I am trying to decide. any suggestions are apprciated. I do not have enough space to mount full size holders so I was looking at either ones that mount on the inside or on top.

I like the Cabela's rod holders. They are made by Scotty. They are tough stuff and can be mounted many different ways.

I also like the Scotty rod holders. I really like the twist-lock feature, so I can lock the rods in while underway. I have four of them, and they are big enough to handle my halibut rods (without the reel clamps) as well as my salmon rods. I even bought adapters from Cabela's so that I can use Scotty rod holders with my Cannon dowriggers.

have you ever considered mail order from CANADA? sound odd, but since Scotty is made in canada, the products, especially downriggers are cheaper even after the shipping. Just remember to as for the items to be shipped via post and not courier.

check out or call www.stevestonmarine.com or www.freds-bc.com

If you have low front rails you may be pleased with the top mount SMITHs.
