Deep drop reel recommendations.

After holding back for years I'm jumping on the deep drop wagon. From your experience what reels do you recommend. I'm not out for swordfish, but if I do hook up I'll take it. Just mainly deep bottom fishing.

Any of reels here will work for deep droping. If you want to try swordfish then your limited. Lp best hooker good .
I dont understand the random swordfish. I not saying it impossible to hook a swordfish fish deep dropling . I think it is .Swordfish is such a difference type of fishing in so many ways . I my opinion there no random swordfish. You eather go deep droping or swordfish. I might be wrong if any caught a swordfish deep driping I like to here about it

Agreed ..no swordfish as by-catch...more like random opportunities to target them
Have an LP...but several times the speed of a handle takingup slack etc. on Seaborg (or others)
has saved a fish that might have otherwise been lost

I had one Hooker 80 Standard and love the setup so much that I bought a second Hooker 80 with line counter autostop and line winder. I like having the hand crank option. They are just great reels.

For most "deep" dropping for the bottom fish species you cant go wrong with a Shimano Beastmaster 9000.
The price point is doable for most and its a quality reel,.
I final blew mine up after 5 years but it caught over 40 swords,8 big eyes, and some other odd ball fish in its time.
It didn't owe me anything, but its current getting fixed.
If money (or space on your boat) is not a concern go with a LP the original 1200 is all you need.
