Default Electric Reels / recommendation

Hello,
I'm looking for some direction on good set up for some kite fishing (possibly some lite deep dropping in the future) in South Florida. I'm just getting into this type of fishing so I'm not looking to break the bank.
I've seen a couple of different models out there like the Daiwa Tanacom 750 / 1000 and the electramate 620 xp or similar which seem reasonable.
Is there a set up that would work for both cases kite and deep drop with the obvious change of the rod?
Thanks for the Help.

Tanacom is a fine kite reel and good for deep dropping for tiles, vermillion snapper, queen snapper, etc. If you want to deep drop for swords, you've got to pay up and get an LP or an equivalent (but in my mind, there's no equivalent).

Thank you,
Any experience with electramate? Kind of look old school but have seen some complete set ups for a reasonable price.

I really like the Hooker electric reels. You can get different sizes and they have a lot of power and speed. Mine are set-up with Penn 80’s and they are great kite reels, work fine on dredges and have enough power to deep drop for swordfish. Expensive, but less than an LP.

Have you considered the Banax reels? They seem like a great option, especially if you don't need something really heavy duty like an LP.

Base level: Tanacom 750/1000

One more level up: Beastmaster 9000a, Seaborg 1200, Banax 1500

There is absolutely no need for a Hooker or LP unless you want to cross over to daytime swording. I use my BM for swording and it does get by on fish up to 200.

I have a Banax 1000 for sale 2.5 years old. Just sent in for a full service (papers to prove it) and just spooled it with new 65lb braid. PM me if interested.

Tanacoms are great for kites but you can get by with electramates just fine. They don't have auto stop like the Tanacoms
4/0 size

Tanacom is an all around great electric. I use mine for both applications & have caught many GT's & Barrels on it. I would chose it over the Electra-mate simply for the auto stop. No experience with the Banax.

Just my $0.02 on the Electra-Mate. They are over-priced for what they are. The really nice thing about the Tanacom's and similar style reels is they have auto-stop that can be set for fishing kites.

It depends on the model and which reel it is paired up with. It is fairly easy to smoke a PENN drag if you are not on top of the things as the fish is coming up.
I switched to Tanacom 1000 or 750 and never looked back, assuming you are not sword fishing. If so you should getting something with a little more backbone.

I see Beastmasters on many boats that are successful so that’s what I bought mine handles my deep drop needs and problem free.
