Rigging Chug Norris Popper
First let me say that I'm new to offshore topwaters, so my apologies if this is a stupid question.

I just picked up a couple of poppers, one is a Yozuri Bull Pop and the other is a Nomad Chug Norris (best lure name ever, BTW). I've crimped the Yozuri onto my leader, but the Chug Norris comes with w split ring attached to the lure's wire loop, so I'm a little confused as to how it was meant to be attached. I know for sure that I don't want to subject my leader to the split ring, so am I supposed to be attaching a swivel to my leader then attaching the split ring to the swivel? And if this is the case, should I add a split ring to the Yozuri and rig it the same way? I couldn't find any rigging info on Nomad's website.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Let me start by saying that i have not thrown the nomad topwaters, but many others. I tie a high quality ball bearing swivel to my fluorocarbon leader. I then have a split ring on all of my poppers so i can change it out lures easily. Don't use a snap swivel but a regular swivel. Just be sure to use high quality split rings. I use this setup to cast topwaters to yellowfin tunas.

Bite leader to swivel to split ring to popper/stickbait
