Default Do you eat Margate?

Margate are plentiful around here and I have speared a few nice frying pan sized fish. Having one tonight for supper and was thinking if anyone else ate them and if so how do you like to prepare them. I am trying to eat healthier so tonight’s dinner is wrapped in foil with some onion peppers and a few spices thrown in the oven...

Yes, they are great. As the largest member of the Grunt family, they taste just like their smaller cousins and have pure white flaky meat. Unfortunately, they are not that plentiful in our area.

I caught a big white margate this weekend. While cleaning it, it had a strong iodine smell. I want to try it, and am wondering how I should prepare it..

I like fish tacos, fish cooked in a frying pan with olive oil, and baked fish. Margate is great cooked like you would any grunt. Ain’t nothing better than grits and grunts.
