Default Aluminum body and bail mount spinning reels?

I'm aware of Van Staal reels, but they aren't very smooth to reel. Anyone have a favorite all aluminum bodied/bail mounts (NOT composite or metal plated plastic) spinning reel?

I'm looking for a "lifetime"quality reel.

Okuma Makaira.Forged aluminum machined reel.Drag systems a little funky and a little heavy. Have the 10000 and 20000.

....by funky i meant the way you adjust it.It adjusts kinda sorta like a lever drag reel.Pretty smooth tho and lot of drag.

There was a thread on US made spinners recently that had a couple options.

Penn Torque and Accurate come to mind. There was another brand mentioned in that thread as well

The only lifetime spinners are the ones that don't get used. I would go with Makaira

The Makaira's look interesting...are they smoother reeling than the Van Staal?

Can't comment on the VS but in full disclosure I'm pretty much a Shimano fan boy and its not as smooth. Not bad for a reel this robust. Its just different.
