The BEST by far is your local tackle shop.

Support your local neighbor. The stores profit goes to put food on a neighbors table and not a CEO's 3rd mansion in a different state.

Besides, the knowledge they can share with you is PRICELESS.

It all depends. I have bought from all of the major websites (excluding Bass Pro/Cabelas) and some of the newer, smaller shops. All have been great to deal with, including their customer service. However, the best one? That is a pretty subjective question. What specifically are you looking for to make one better than the other? Most comprehensive selection? Best Prices? Better Customer Service? Etc.?

I have found prices, deals, and shipping costs to vary from site to site and I usually shop around to find the best overall deal. Its not like you are going into the store and really want the wow factor.

tackle direct has been good to me. if you don't like the price, copy the manufacturer # and check amazon. They send you lots of promo codes and coupons in the mail that are actually useful, not just junk mail

Melton usually has the best prices on big game hooks.

Local tackle shop us the best bet, for sure. I also do a lot of ordering on the gulfstream lures site.

Currently I'm learning towards Tackle Warehouse.

They seem to have a better selection of swimbait hooks which as an inshore artificial only guy is huge. Plus they give you free ground shipping at $50+ versus Tackle Direct you have to spend $100+ for free ground.

I would prefer to use Amazon since I'm a Prime subscriber but tackle shopping on Amazon is kind of like Mad Max times. The site isn't setup for tackle shopping and there is TONS of weird Chinese stuff cluttering up your search results.

I hear ya on that,At this point 90% of what I use is in my history and check out is just so easy and fast.It would be sweet if Amazon had sub categories for things like hunting and fishing, with their top vendors listed first.

What's with Tackle Direct?

With one day left on a sale, I emailed them with a question. I got a "we don't know" response literally TWO WEEKS later.

All depends....I've bought from just about all. Selection sometimes varies. I recently found anithercplace for fresh water stuff....Sportsman's Wearhouse. I do buy a lot from my local guys as well....a real person with knowledge beats online.
