Default Rods for Avet EXW 30/2?

Hello. I am looking for a decent rod for my new Avet EXW 30/2 Reel. I have been looking at the Penn Carnage2 6’6 200lb Boat Rod. I’m just a bit skeptical about it being so thin. What are y’alls thoughts on it? Will it pair well with the reel? What are some other alternatives? My budget is $200 and I’m not looking for a custom rod. I will be fishing on land for Small to Medium sized Jew Groupers and Sharks.
Thanks for any Help!
I prefer something I can order thru amazon or Bass Pro Shops as well.

I have Pinacle Marine XR SERIES rods on my Avet 30 wides. They are nice rods and in the price range you want. You can find their listing in the commercial sales forum.

depending on what drag you are going to be applying they could. but the particular rods i ordered would not be ideal. thea re only 20-50lb class. I would def. go with something heavier for that type of fishing

Get the Pinnacle xr series in the weight class you deem suitable.

I would call John at Pinnacle to get his advise on your best rod set up. He is very helpful. The number I have is 210-364-6943

Why are you getting such a big heavy reel?

Get an Avet HXW Raptor and back it with braid and add a mono topshot. You will get about 650yds.

And I fish Pinnacle ProXR but I do t see you needing a reel like that for your application as you want more versatility. Go simple with a Shimano Trevala XXH and be done. Here in NJ you could bag a 150# tuna on that setup all day.
