Default problems with release clips

OK,
First season with outriggers. I have Tacos and the release clips are becoming hard to use.
I did not have problems in the first couple months but right now, they are hard to close when set tight enough to run the Sterling Wide Trackers.
Today I could not even close it and still have it tight enough to keep the wide trackers from just pulling off. I did not have this problem on the first couple trips out.
I had to use the 2nd line only for the wide tracker.
Is there something I need to do to keep it working ? Spray it?

What release clip can I buy to upgrade to something more durable?

Also, I'm having a problem with the line coming back to the boat. I have to periodically pull it back out again. I"ve placed rubber bands at the pully to add more drab but again, is there something I can do/add to keep the line all the way out?

Depending on the guests or my day, I fish different spots and I have to adjust the release clips from trip to trip depending on what I'm trolling for so I don't always run the wide trackers.

thx

My outer line has the most slack. That one moves the most. so this makes sense. The little swivels that taco included with the rigging kit was slipping on me so I just used knots and did not do it tight enough. I'd like something adjustable but those Taco things either I'm doing something wrong or just don't work well.

Get a pair of R&R clips for the wide trackers, best thing ever and super easy to adjust for the small stuff.
