Default Kristal electric reels.

Hey guys I have a kristal kf004 electric reel. Itís a bandit style reel. Super smooth super powerful. I use it for tiles and I have a green stick that I use it as a hauler. Well I hooked into a big tuna a couple weeks back and it melted line off. That was the first big fish I had on this reel well the drag system consisted of a ss washer that pressed against the aluminum spool. Well as it spun and got hot it literally galled the side of the spool and took chunks of aluminum out. And was locking. Resulting in loosing the fish. I would assume the same would happen with a sword. I had a friend who is has a machine shop make me up a plate to sit in where the spool is and I ordered a carbon washer to go in between. Iíll post some pics of I can of the part and what happened. Just putting this out there if there are other people that are having this problem. I am going to do some testing in the next few days with it with the new plate.

Not sure a single carbon washer will give you the drag you need? Interested yo hear how you find it works.

I would be open to suggestions. Itís a terrible design on kristals part I was going to take apart one of my talica 50ís to see how that drag system is and see if I could mirror it.
