Default Weedless Hook For Dolphin Trolling Question

There are a lot of weedless hook solutions for bass fishing. With all the weeds in the Dolphin trolling areas does anyone have a weedless solution for trolling dolphin lures?

Thanks for any help.

When we were in Marathon at the beginning of June, I stopped by "The Tackle Box". He recommended a lure we trolled, I think it was by R&R. It was a plastic head and pink rubbery skirt. Maybe 5" long. Had a single hook. We pulled it and pulled it, RARELY got grass on it. We were in super thick grass all week, and I was amazed on how well it kinda skipped and floated across the weeds, even weed patches. And yes, we caught dolphin on it while trolling.

RJ Boyle put a video out recently on it, they sell the weedless hooks in store too, started a few weeks ago. Looks like a regular hook (they use long shank with a swivel on top) but the hook has a 45* piece of wire across from the top of the hook to where the hook opening is, almost makes it look like a hook that you can clip onto something. Works.

#8 or 10 wire, wrapped around the eye/shank and pointed toward the hook tip.

Also iLander Tracker is a lures they said does not catch weed, and they have another lure in the store with similar characteristics.

maybe obvious but if trolling ballyhoo-skirt it. Artificials easier in a high weed environment.

circle hook skipping ballyhoo off the outriggers I can pull across an entire mat of weed without a problem. Can't do a full spread of course but coupled with a few lures that get weeded less than others and you got a good start.
