I usually have to leave home around 2:30-3:00 a.m. so, I have no interest in breakfast. I take snacks, drinks, etc. and will usually eat something once we get out onto the water. Usually a banana (JK), I take cereal bars, Nutragrain bars, Belvitas, etc.. I don't eat a lot when I'm fishing.

Been getting up around 2 for the last few tuna trips. I start with some water, then some ice coffee (I can’t drink hot coffee in the middle of the night). Usually have some granola bars, nuts, a little at a time to get the system going. I don’t eat a lot for breakfast normally. As the morning/day go on I will have a sandwich/a wrap of some kind and we always have pretzel rods or something to snack on that is not a real mess to eat on the boat. Plenty of water and of course a few beers as the day goes on.

Usually eat something lite right after I wake up (before I start loading up the boat). I do this to get my gut moving. Nothing worse than heading out to fish all day and not taking care of business before leaving the dock.

Another vote for boiled eggs in the morning, and a sub later on.

And and lots of water.

My routine coffee, try to dump drive and hit the gas station. Hey guys here’s my card and zip code. I am hitting the john. Now I feel better let’s eat something. I like to keep it light early get a belvita breakfast cookies and maybe mixed fruit. Usually have a beer once lines are set and half a sub I usually feel great after that.

I like a granola bar with my coffee for starters, and then a spam musubi with a beer as soon as lines are set.
most people that show up with a McDonald’s bag are guaranteed to be puking within an hour.

If we stay at marina its going to be coffee and a honey bun, which is about the only time I eat honey buns. Then drink a coke on way out, which is about the only time I drink cokes.

I'm a wreck when I wake up at 1-2am to leave to fish. My stomach is usually a disaster and my equilibrium is usually all sorts of off. I usually just have a bagel plain with some water and a coffee. It takes me a while to wake up.

I can attest that McDonalds breakfast burritos are not a good choice before a long day offshore...……..

A big tumbler concoction of Bloody Mary, celery, pepper, a skewer of boiled shrimp and some good deer jerky.
Deliciousness!

Do you try and eat a full breakfast before you go, just pack something for later once you get settled on the boat or grab that sandwich at the gas station that's been sitting under the warmer since 8 o'clock the day before? What's your routine?
I grab a WAWA pretzel too start. I also order one of their sandwiches that consists of a bagel, egg white, turkey, spinach, avocado and cheese.

A banana at 3 or 4am...........then once settled in fishing, an Egg Salad Sandwich, from my company, DANDEE.....along with some peanut butter crackers and a Coke, no diet coke either...the hard stuff !!

Beer is a sure way to find yourself hanging over the side, screaming for that mythical mermaid named "Raaaalph ".....( if it's sloppy )
