Default Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge - Fishing Report and LOTS of Pictures - April/May 2019

Hey THT'ers,

It's been a while since my last post but I thought I'd start posting again to show everybody how great everything has been here lately at our island lodge. The fishing has been awesome, the lodge is expanding, and everything just keeps getting better! I hope you guys enjoy all the pics and reports that I will continue to post!

What an amazing couple of months we have had here on Isla Paridas! As usual...the fishing in April and May was awesome! We hosted a few new groups and had a bunch of return clients back for more fishing adventure at our island lodge!

We fished 53 days in April and May...most days running both of our 33' World Cat catamarans. We had some excellent fishing...especially offshore with Yellowfin Tuna and Dorado! We had many great catches of some large Yellowfin Tunas. And as usual we ran into quite a few Tuna 'Frenzies' where the ocean literately turns white from the frothing of feeding Tunas smashing bait at the surface of the water! It's not uncommon to run up on the action and hook into multiple fish at once. We got a bunch of nice Dorados in the mix! as well.

Thanks so much to our all of our awesome clients for choosing Sport Fish Panama Island Lodge!!!

Enjoy the pics....

Capt. Shane

Very nice. All the time I spent in Panama when we had our base there and I had no idea about the tuna fishing. Dang.

Thanks! Yeah...the Tunas are here in the Gulf of Chriqui year round but March through July, for the past ten years or so, always is really good for them. We have a 4 strait weeks of groups starting July 21 so we'll see how the Tunas hold up the rest of this and next month.

We get quite a few clients who bring their fly gear down to fish. That was a guy from Key West who wanted to catch a Yellowfin Tuna on the fly. That was the second rod he broke on the trip!
