Hey guys looking for some info on live bait in south Florida
What is the going rate per dozen on pilchards
Reason I ask is I have heard below $10 and upwards of $25 per dozen...
I am looking in Blackpoint / Biscayne Bay area.

How many do you need? $25 a dozen is about average for the Biscayne Bay Area if you're just buying a dozen. If you're trying to load up your wells you could probably get a break.

Yeah I mean I was asking around and getting varying pricing.
Spoke with Tom Watkins who does the area down south by me (Blackpoint area). charging 20$ dozen.
Friend told me he gets 3-4 doz for 30$ by Crandon park.

Haulover and Gov't are typically $10/dozen from Mike/Lester/Frank/Pedro. Good days there will be a net full for $10, slow days you will get your 12ish....

Size really isn't a factor with these guys, whatever is running through that night. They net them and sell them the same day.

In Broward you can get pilchards at bait shops for $20/doz, and the bait boats and marinas are $30/doz. I'm jealous you can get them for $10 in Dade.

If you want to catch your own pilchards were pretty thick just south of sands cut yesterday.

Miami guys net them and you're typically paying for a net full...$40-$60 and they'll black you out. Sabiki caught pilchards are $25 and up per dozen.
