One piece 7' Tiger Ugly Stick BWS 2201 Medium Action, $70, 5 year guarantee is what I use with mine and I have some much more expensive rods.

But your rod really should be matched to the lure weights you are casting. This one throws 1 1/2- 4 oz just fine, but to be clear this is a casting rod.Its a fast tip popper casting rod with plenty of back bone for Aj's.

The Tiger Lights are their vertical 72-78" one piece jigging rods and are much more parabolic. Very good value as they also cast well, but for jigging rods I like the 60-65" ling ultralight ml customs I make with Rain Shadow blanks.

Wow, The Bullshipper! That's a name I haven't heard in eons. Actually, I ended up with one of the Ugly Stick Tiger Lite Jigging rods (can't remember numbers), A Star VPG 7" (or was it 6'6") and a Teramar 7'. I have a Saragosa 10000 on the way from Cabela's to go with the 8000. I don't believe in spending boat loads of money on fancy equipment. I just need something that is versatile and gets the job done well enough.

Thanks for all the recommendations!

I was going to post a link to Cabelas sale but it looks like there all gone. I should have bought more at $40.00 off. Teramar.

I fish a Gosa 10K w/ a Trevalla MH 50-100lb and it is an absolute beast for bottom dropping, jigging, and sight casting. My go to rod.

This is a very good rod for the money - Tsunami jigging. I have one paired with a Daiwa Big Game reel. Ive always had good luck with their rods and they tend to be underrated.
