Default Guidance on topshots and floro leader for trolling setup

I am putting together some trolling rods for Southern GoM fishing. BF tuna mostly but others if I get out far enough.

I have TLD30s spooled w/ a backer of momoi diamond mono (40lb), then 300y of power pro braid (50lb), then a topshot of the same momoi diamond (approx 25y) to put some shock absorption into the system.

My question related to adding a floro leader to the momoi topshot. Is that needed? I'd prefer it, but it will add yet another knot to the system.

Any experience here is welcomed.

Based on your described system, instead of using non flouro as a top shot, consider seaguar salmon flouro carbon (100 yds of 50lb = $20) as your top shot. For $20 dollars a reel you have 100 yd flouro top shot. Also, in my opinion, attaching mono to your spool and then tying to braid is unnecessary work. When you attach to your spool tie your braid backing directly to your spool, take the braid, make five or six wide wraps around the spool and then tie a uni to the spool with the braid. With the system I just described you are tying two knots, your braid to the spool and your florou topshot to the braid. An old captain I used to work for always told me, work smarter not harder.

Thanks, was not aware of seagaur sts. Needed the mono backer to fill the reel. I do like the idea of a pure floro topshot. Will give the sts product a try. Noted that it is 1/4 the cost of seagaur’s usual floro.

Open to any other ideas here.
