Are you managing to discover how to read what I wrote? So again since you didn't read: I prefer #50 to get the knots out but #30 would be fine.

Guess this site is just like the rest where people just want to be keyboard warriors...

On my conventional reels I always mono back for cost. It doesnít matter the reel but for blues or stripers Iím not trolling or using hundreds of yards so no need to have the capacity in my case. Iíll put half the reel with mono then 30# suffix or something on top. Iíll add 20-30ft of mono using an FG knot as my top shot. Depends what Iím doing but Iíll tie leaders or directly to the top shot case by case.

Funny everyone is saying 30 and 50..........I use 40 for my inshore stuff and 80 for all my offshore stuff..... works for me......
