Default St.Augustine Weather

Trying to plan a trip down at the beginning of next week. I usually go out 20-30mi has windfinder been spot on or off?

Its been fairly accurate. Just remember that its giving you the sea swell height and period, not the wind chop on top of the swell. Use your best judgment. If they're calling for a south wind it will probably be bumpy inside 20 miles

Windfinder is pretty good for St Aug. Best bet is using a blended approach from multiple sources.

7 days out - use windfinder
3-5 days out I look at NOAA & windfinder
48hrs - departure I look at buoy reports (buoy 41117 is 12 miles NE of St Aug inlet)

kingfish bite has has been good nearshore if you can find bait. Haven’t heard any great reports for bottom fishing inside 30.

I use windy and it's always been good. We fish St Augustine from 12 to 70 miles out. Windy's side bar has the ability to pick three wave predictions including main swell, wind swell and chop. Right click on a spot and choose "forecast for this location" and then on the bottom menu pick waves. It shows you the three predictions with arrows.

Next week is confused and tight seas with the current info.
