For those asking about the 1500 banax...

Specifications:
- High speed retrieve 550 feet per minute.
- Low speed high torque mode for larger fish, reel will automatically shift speeds without stopping the spool (Other current 2 speed reels have to stop the reel to shift).
- 70# drag with empty spool, 50# drag with a full spool - very smooth. Motor torque exceeds these drag capabilities.
- Extremely large helical gearing for long term durability and quiet operation.
- Generously sized drag system for consistent performance over long battles.
- Honed and polished drag plates for smooth drag levels across all levels of drag.
- 7 large diameter carbon fiber greased drag washers.
- Oversized ceramic level wind guide (.230") easily handles windons, wax loops and kite swivels. The level wind design eliminates the chance of line wrap, and has a solid metal guide housing.
- Reel will display feet or meters
- Solid core braid capacities:

65# Braid - 1300 Yards
80# Braid - 1100 Yards
100# Braid - 875 Yards
130# Braid - 700 Yards

Thanks for the help Southern Hooker.

FYI - Capacity greatly depends on the braid you use.
The capacity of the Banax 1500TM, Daiwa 1200MJ and Shimano Beastmaster 9000 are the same.
Just want to put that out there.... More to follow. Testing is completed.

A few hundred of the 1500TM reels arrived yesterday afternoon!

I got mine today! Weather is great too but gotta work on the boat. Lol. You know one thing I'd like (and I don't know if it's possible) is an alarm for using them as teaser reels or hst reels . Maybe even just a beeping one?

Frigate sales hooked me up last week with my new Banax 1500. This thing is a tank. James had a Shimano beast master 9000 in the shop for some torture testing and the Banax made it look like a toy. I think James at Frigate sales has a home run with this new Banax!

Have you already posted all your findings from the test somewhere?

Works now. Is the 1000 enough for swordfish deep dropping a couple times a year?

No, you don't have enough capacity IMO.
When you add a windon, it forces you to remove a lot of braid.
