Default Rhodan vs. Minn Kota

What do you guys think is better as far as dependability, power, etc?
Thanks in advance for your wisdom on the matter!

I have owned both. The Rhodan destroyes the minn Kota. I have a 36 volt 120 on a 26 twin vee. Now I primarily use it for a god anchor. The guts on the inside of the Rhodan are way more impressive then the minn Kota also. Also the customer service is very impressive. If you fish the flats. The auto deploy is a nice feature. But mine did not last more then two years. Hands down. Rhodan Good luck

I canít and wonít say anything bad about MK, but Iíve been floored by the customer service from Rhodan. As good or better than anything Iíve dealt with in any industry, not just marine.

If Rhodan would come out with an auto stow/deploy feature, that would be a game changer for me. I fish some really nasty conditions sometimes, alone, where I don't want to be standing on a pitching bow deploying or stowing the motor.

BTW, I've had my Ulterra since they came out with no issues. But if it quit tomorrow, I'd have a new one on the way ASAP.

Anyway, there are tons of threads on this and similar topics. "Search" is your friend..

Anybody heard whether they are planning to introduce an auto-deploy to the market?

I had nothing but problems with my Minn Kota to the point I will never own a Minn Kota product again. Aside from the paint flaking on my Motorguide, it has been mechanically flawless. I'll run this one until it breaks then I'll get a Rhodan.

Had a MK on the bay boat and now a Rhodan on the 28 cc. I loved the MK and it was flawless. I especially liked the remote for the MK and how it showed details like battery life, power etc. First impression of the Rhodan out of the box was that the material felt a little sub par compared to MK but so far no issues. I did have an issue with the compass. I called Rhodan up at 3pm after fishing and they had someone at my house the next morning to pick it up. It was back at my house a few days later and no issues since. Real nice on the phone and even took the time to break down the possibilities of what caused the failure.

I truly can't believe that MK has yet to release an 84'' shaft.

Motor Guide has what they call a revolutionary new design in trolling motors.
Won't be introduced until the I Cast show in July.
Speculation is a brushless motor.
We'll see.

Hmm brushless would have a longer battery life, wonder if it would be more quiet also?
Not sure what other advantage it would be, maybe lifespan of the motor. Whatever it is the other manufacturers better roll out with a longer shaft.

I’ve owned all 3 brands. I currently have a rhodan and customer service was the deciding factor for me. I’m happy with my purchase.
