Default Aruba offshore charter WTB

I'm looking for a good charter boat out of Aruba for a full day of offshore action. We will probably be 5 people. Want some things where they let you get involved with the action if you know what your doing, but someone that can put us on the the fish, not just your average tourist trap. Arrival May 11 and departure May 18th.

Hell yea! i know just the guy Capt Harry top boat top gear,he's even got a 550lb Marlin in the fridge waitin for ya to take a pic, sorry ya gotta pay but it ain't much he's a reasonable guy.Aruba is a great place to fish, never blows more than 10 knots and the water is flat as a pond.Be shure to eat some cake and a couple pork chops before you head out,the locals say it's good luck.Tell Harry i sent ya and say hi for me.

There are many good fishing charters in Aruba. I do hope you recognized Sailingman's sarcasm about flat water and not being windy. If you are not OK in rough waters, don't go. The better fishing tends to be on the north side of the island where it can be quite rough. I've gone on 5 or six and we usually have someone that gets sick. They can also go on the leeward side (south side) which is not nearly as rough, but the fishing action can be less predictable. I've never been there during May, but the captains should know what is biting and where's the best locations. If you want to keep any of your catch, make sure you negotiate with the captain before you go. Some give you the catch, some expect to keep it. We caught several Mahi Mahi and Wahoo one year and brought it out to the restaurant on Pelican Pier. They cooked it us for us (broiled, grilled and fried). We fed about 40 people and they only charged us something like $8 per person for preparing the fish, vegetables, rice and soft drink.

Enjoy your trip.

Teaser Charters, call Kenny and Milton and tell them Brandon from NY sent you.

They have two 35' Bertram's last I fished with them, they will let you get involved with rigging, setting lines, hooking up, ect....

If you're into it they will also take you deep dropping for Grouper instead of usual trolling deal.

Driftwood charters is good & they also own the Driftwood restaurant. They will prepare your catch at the restaurant so everyone can enjoy your catch of the day. We went out on a different boat and only caught a few Barracuda, but their were some Mahi and wahoo caught that day on the dock. Seas are very rough when you get outside of the protection of the island, so beware if you get seasick. I would not book another charter in Aruba, I would enjoy the weather, great people and all the fresh fish you want at any of the restaurants.

Thanks for all the input. Seems like you are all correct it will be very windy on the forecast. That's fine with me flat seas are going to be hard to come by. I just sent an email to driftwood, we like the idea of the restaurant after. If not I may reach out to teaser, any other restaurants in the area where you can bring your catch?

Nice ...There should still be some whites and blues around down there , and you are on the best boat for them . My brother got a slam with them a couple years ago . Enjoy

Had a great day yesterday on Teaser. Milton and Rudolph were excellent. We ended up with 2 nice wahoo and 2 nice yellowfin and a small blackfin to take to dinner. Had a sailfish on for a little while but he through the hook. Had a small blue marlin come up on the teaser then smack the down trigger line but we didn't come tight. Had one other wahoo bite off on mono. All and all it was a great day. Rudolph worked his ass off in the cockpit, these guys are top notch and very friendly. If I take another trip it will definitely be on Teaser.
After fishing we brought our catch over to Sea Salt which is a small restaurant right at the marina, they prepared everything for 18$ per person and it was outstanding. I'll post some pictures once I download them.
