Default Budget live bait kingfish rod recommendations?

Looking at getting a couple of conventional rods to king fish the northern gulf. Trying to stay toward the low end of the price spectrum (<$125). Any votes for the BPS Offshore Angler Live bait rods? Reels will be Toriums and Squalls I already have. Thanks

What does that even mean? I can see how a 2 speed lever drag blows a 6/0 senator out of the water. But rods?

Default king fish rods

We fished Kingfish tournament this weekend and unfortunately landed Amberjack that was a easy 60lbs. on a Star Aerial Rod like what has been mentioned above. The best part is when you slam one in a hatch or your tailgate, who cares it was cheap!

star handcrafted is the way to go. they are essential and Ariel with a lifetime warranty. I think they're 100 bucks a piece and you get a free replacement if she breaks

I have all Star Rods, old Delux (disconitinued) and Handcrafted. To me, best besides goung custom, especially for the $. If you take care of them, they can last forever. Have some that are quite old and look great

That helps a lot. Do you have a model number. Ugly stik website doesn't show any custom live bait rods. Only thing that popped up on google were old THT threads of people talking about them. Looks like they don't make them anymore.....

Great rod for sure but you are right, they are discontinued. If OP is located in Miami I know a place that still have a few available.
