Default Blown exhaust bellow

My exhaust bellow went out on me this past weekend, we ran out to the island fine hung out all day, and fired her up when leaving and sounded like straight pipes. I understand that the outdrive has to be removed for this repair and i need to replace all of them while off, but could i upgrade to a bravo or even a duoprop? its a 98 mercruiser 5.0 efi with the alpha 1 of course. Could it be a simple swap?

If you wanted to change it to a Bravo 3 or a Bravo one, you would have to replace the transom sheild assy. The part that the drive is bolted to. It is not a simple swap at all.

As far as the exhaust bellow goes on a Alpha one, its easy to replace. If it was me, I would go thru all the maintenance for that drive. Which would include the drive shaft bellow, gimbal bearing, trim and tilt senders, water hose and the drive shift cable. These are normal wear parts that should be replaced every 4-5 seasons depending on use and water type.
