Default wood pad issue

I purchased one of the polishers and finally got to use it over the weekend. This is by for the best polisher/waxing kit I have ever used. The issue is when I pulled the wood pad off the polisher the white fabric that is adhered to the wool pad separated and stayed attached to the Velcro on the polisher when I was about halfway finished with the boat. I used a second pad to finish. Can I get a replacement wool pad to replace the one that did not last very long?? I'll be happy to send the defective pad back and at a min send pictures of it.

Just ordered the pro model and my wool pad did the same thing. Mine actually slung the wool pad across the shop. Thought it was a UFO for a second! I’ve got to ask though.....are they supposed to get real hot when in use?

Hey, the wool pad we sell isn't designed to work on the Dual Action Polisher Pro. The pads designed for the Pro have a heat sinking foam designed to dissipate the heat generated from the backing plate. Here is a link to the pads designed for the DAPPRO

Default Same thing happened

Wish I saw this post before I bought. Same issue with mine. Package says for dual action polisher.. Does not say "not for use with pro polisher". These things weren't cheap but then again I got them from West Marine. Hope Captsam will help out

Whoo boy. vrm24, please PM me pictures of your pads. Because they were used on the wrong machine, you'll probably need to go through West Marine for a product failure. I'm not sure that West Marine stocks our Dual Action Polisher Pro Pads, but I'll see what I can do.

Hollywood5048, I'd ask the same thing of you. Please send me pictures of the pads and their failure. I'll see if I can help you out.

Remember, we design the pads for each machine to work with it's intended polisher. For instance, the Dual Action Polisher Pro pads have a structural, heat absorbing material that the pads of the original machine do not. That's because the Pro generates more heat than the original machine. It keeps the pads adhesive from degrading during use.

Capt. Sam,
Thanks alot. I contacted customer service today and they are sending out a replacement backing plate due to the fact that the foam pads will not stay on due to too many wool fibers that got caught in the backing plate velcro. I will eat the cost of the wool pads seeing I purchased incorrectly however I think Shurhold needs to be more clear on their packaging about pads working with specific polishers. Also, the videos should explain int as well. Can I ask that you send me an orange light oxidation pad. I would be happy with that. Let me know your thoughts.
Thank you.

Vrman24,

We've got no problem taking care of our customers and we will take your comments to our manufacturing team. I know customer service is already sending you a replacement backing plate and a Blue Heavy Oxidation Pad free of charge and she claims that you stated that you already have an orange light oxidation pad. Did you need another?
