Managing Non Skid
 

Yesterday I purchased the Shurhold Utility Brush which is a small hand brush with very still bristles. It works great on getting the non skid clean but is too small to use beyond spot stains or small areas. Do you think it is too stiff to use on a regular cleaning basis ? Do you offer the same brush in a larger pole mount?

i imagine this has been addressed before but could you please outline Shurholds approach to managing non skid including.

1) how best to clean mild and moderately dirty and oxidized non skid?

2) is there a product that helps Repel dirt and oxidation?

3) what do you suggest for weekly cleaning once restored? Is there a product that does not have a PH that will strip the adjacent waxed areas?

Hey Carl,

1) I suggest giving your non-skid a deep clean with our white Stiff Deck Brush, which has fibers similar to the handheld brush you already own. Combine this with Serious Multipurpose Cleaner, a powerful stain remover that contains no bleach. It's perfect to use right before the next step.

2) Now that the non-skid is clean, you can protect it using our Pro Polish. It can be applied by hand or with a Dual Action Polisher, whatever is easier for you. Simply ensure that you cover the entire deck with Pro Polish, buffing dry with a clean Microfiber towel as you go. You'll want to follow up with the third step, which should be used for regular maintenance.

3)As a post wax cleaning and as a weekly wash, Britewash combined with a Medium Deck Brush is my recommendation. It won't strip the wax and will leave the deck looking clean and new.

I've got a new boat on order, and have enjoyed your how-to videos. Regarding Pro Polish, can I also use it on the entire hull as well as the non-skid surfaces? I would prefer being able to use just a single product for the entire boat.

******* Disregard - I see from other posts that Pro Polish can be use on all Fiberglass, in addition to non-skid surfaces.
