Default Transducer recommendation

I'm considering adding a 7600 or 8600 Garmin chirp sv sounder to my boat (35' Bertram) wondering what the best thru hull transducer option would be for near shore saltwater 30' to 1500' deep dropping. Side view perhaps as deep as 250' if possible?

Also what is the biggest difference between the 76 and 86 series Garmins?

For deep dropping to 1500'...the B265C-LM...
Side scan , the GT51-TM..but it is beast under 150'

The 7600 units are now discontinued so they will not have the advantage of anything new that Garmin may be adding in the future.
The 8600 units have the new G3 charts..the 7600 units the G2,,but the 7600 can upgrade to the G3 as part of the 1 year free upgrade.
The 8600 a faster processor, added sonar circuits..such as the LivesScope and ULTRA HD structure.
