Default Single GPSMAP7610XVS Installed. Add 8610 or 2nd 7610?

I have a GPSMAP7610XVS with GT50M-TM installed on my Seahunt 255. I'm happy with this setup for my needs (inshore and GOM 250' max). I am planning to add a 2nd unit. I am trying to decide if I should add a 2nd 7610 (non XVS) or a 8610 (XVS or non-XVS). Also planning to add a GXM53 XM Weather Receiver/Antenna at the same time. I have a Garmin inReach so I'm leaning toward the 8610 since it supports inReach. I would appreciate any opinions. TIA!

The 7610xsv.7610 are now discontinued..but still have excellent 2 year warranty support..
Very good units.

The 8610xsv..has far more sonar capability...such as the built in LiveScope..just add the LVS 12 transducer.
And the 8610xs will be able to use any of the future Garmin upgrades.

To date..all my customers really like the 8600xsv units.

Are the built-in sonars of the xvs series just as good as the black box?

Ideally I would like to flush mount the 8610 in the original 7610 location. Then move the 7610 to the right hand side. But it looks like the 8610 width is about 1.15" narrower that the 7610. No clean way to mount the 8610 in the original 7610 cutout, right?

I purchased 2 8610xsv units several weeks ago from Gil, and the LCV12...and my son got 1 from him also.
My son had the 7610xsv..used starboard like Gil suggested...no problem.

And the LCV 12 is amazing.

Thanks for the advice! When the 7610 is networked to the 8610, do you know if the 7610 can access the G3 charts preloaded on the 8610?

The 7610xsv cannot acces any pre loaded charts from other units........they can only access a Vision card from the other units.
