Default Transducer recommendations

I am getting together my electronics for a new Robalo R207 I am going to be ordering, I believe I have it narrowed down to simrad nss7 Evo 3, 2 units networked. I am becoming confused on what transducer or transducers I will need. I want to have the down and side imaging structure scan, not really needing the 3D structure scan right now. From what I am reading I don't need a chirp unit or separate unit for the down or side imaging with this unit correct? Only if I later upgrade for 3D? So is there a transducer that has chirp as well as the down and side imaging? Sounds like thru hull is the best option, do I need a fairing block or can it be flush mounted? I normally fish in 15-45ft of water but with the new boat I will be expanding to try more species in the great lakes so I may be using for some deeper water a little. Musky has been my main Target for several years if that info helps with choice. Thank you!

If you are looking for side and down scan thru hull, then the Total scan with a fairing....it will plug and play with a NSS7 evo3.

Hello, another question, the total scan thru hull I see says up to 5 degrees of deadrise with the fairing block, my boat will be 18 degrees of deadrise. Will the total scan unit not work for me? If not is there a thru hull transducer that will or am I limited to transom mount ducers?

Correct...with the fairing..the Totalscan fairing mounting location needs to be 5 degrees deadrise or less.
You may have a location near the keel of less than 5 degrees.
