Does that sidebar go away on the sonar pictures? Seems to be taking up alot of realestate. And it's not overlayed

Yes you can make it go away.

I was wondering the same thing. I wouldn't mind if the bottom bar disappeared until I touched the screen.
I like the look and apparent function of the adjustments. Looking forward to getting mine in and spending the evening working through all the menus.

I'm not as concerned as much about what we will see, as I am when we will see it. I feel like a puppy and my owner keeps showing me the ball, but not throwing it. My response is "yeah, Yeah, YEAH!!! throw it, Throw It, THROW IT!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yes....the bars are totally user friendly...and can be removed.

Go to SETTINGS...and select Preferences

Then Select Menu Display Bar.......AUTO.
The bar will stay up for short period and then disappears.
Tap the bar area and it reappears.

That is awesome! Garmin really is delivering on the software from the sounds of it. Thanks for doing the homework Gil!

I sure hope I pre-ordered early enough to get in on the first run of delivered units!

The 740 cannot run a 265 CHIRP ducer.
