Still exploring different options.
Thx,
Correct...the same elements.

If you have a place to mount that is less than 5 degrees you can use a single thu hull.

If not..then you need the pair.

Sorry..I misread..very tired.

The Thru and the Transom have the same elements but the thru hull may have better performance as speed increases past 10 mph.

Default Right Transducer for Albin 28?

Gil,
I'm looking at getting a Garmin 1040xs for my Albin 28. It has a inboard diesel with a hull dead rise of 16percent. I'll be fishing mostly in the Chesapeake Bay. What transducer do you recommend? Transom Mount or Thru Hull? Do I need the GCV10 sonar module? Thanks for the assistance.

Default Thru Hull or Transom Mount

The Garmin site only recommends thru hull for boats with inboards. What is your experience with this situation? It's seems there are better options with transom mounts but not if the prop wash (from the inboard) disturbs your signal. Please advise to the best option.... Thanks!!

Depends on the setback of the props..

I have seen a pair of side scan ducers os the outboard of the props that did just fine.

So I have the basic transducer for my 741xs and I was thinking of going down and side view, would just going with the striker 7sv be the same performance wise as going with a gcv10 and down and side view transducer for the 741xs?

Hello again Gill,
The GT30TH would seem to be the right transducer for use on a 27' Panga that runs on a pad and without much deadrise.
Is the Garmin 94 SV available with this transducer without paying extra for the transom mount I would not use? Or other suggestions?
Thanks.

If you use the GT30 you only have side and down vu...no traditional...not a good choice.

Looking to install the 1040xs and GCV 10. My question is does the GCV 10 hook up to a nmea 2000 network so it can share between displays.

The GCV 10 connects to the Garmin network port...it does not use NMEA .
