Default Garmin 932xsv GT51M-TH SideVu

Installed a Garmin 943xsv and GT51M-TH on my Grady White 268 Islander earlier this year. Totally unimpressed with SideVu imagery. Slow speed operation. Several sports where I know of structure. Maybe software revision on first units shipped? I need to do more testing in July when the boat is in the water. All the Garmin owners I talked to with SideVu units had good things to say about it. Unfortunately I'm not one of them. I need to sort this out as its the reason I did the upgrade.

Those water pick ups could be generating some disturbed water flow that affects the return.

Best I could do for transducer location on my boat. Can't go forward because of fuel compartment. Transducer is below pickups in clean water. Maybe at high speed. My testing has all been at 2 to 3 knots.

What do you think of the image quality of the top image? Doesn't look "noisy". It did pickup something up 45' off to the side. Probably the dedication marker.

Maybe I'm expecting too much fishing in Florida in the sand and coral. I'm going to try testing it this summer in NJ with big wrecks on the artificial reefs.
