Default Garmin Help

Gill,

I having an issue with a Garmin 7610. I bought this boat in Apr and the display does not look right. I can not see the "eye brow" for fish even though Im catching Spanish macs and strippers here in the Chesapeake bay. Can you tell if I have a transducer problem? The transducer was painted and I did remove the paint but it did not help. All I see is what on the display but I know the big fish are there because I'm catching them.
Thanks,

Dave

Your returns are very good..they are showing some nice sized fish...keep in mind what you are seeing is the return from the fishes bladder...

And the GT41 you are using is not a CHIRP unit.....you might want to upgrade to a GT51.

Can you give me a price on a 51? And I think I need some splash shields if you have them. My current transducer throws water on the side of my outboard. Also I think I was expecting a return from the whole fish. I didn't know it was just the swim bladder.

GT51..$479 shipped

Sounds good and thanks for the link. Can you send me an invoice or a website link?

Gill,

I took a look at some of my old screen shots from my other boat. The Garmin on my old boat did have the 51 transducer. That is what I was expecting to see. The chirp makes a BIG difference.

This is what I was expecting to see. The main difference is the transducer. I wish I had kept it instead of selling it with the boat.
