Default Newbie Looking for a recommendation,

Hi, this is my first post here. I have been looking for a fishfinder in the 500 - 600 dollar range. Seems the more I read, the more I'm unclear what is best for me. It's driving me crazy.
I've been a saltwater fisherman from Long Island all my life. However, I now live in the Hudson Valley which is new territory for me. So I'm going to have to learn a thing or two about freshwater fishing. I intend to fish the Hudson River and estuaries for Large and Smallmouth Bass, Crappie, and Cat Fish mostly. I'll definitely be going after some Striped Bass when the migration passes in the Spring and Fall.
I just inherited a 16' Carolina Skiff J16 and put a new Evinrude 25 hp. Not a big boat and so I'm not intending to take it anywhere far from shore. Thus I'm thinking I really don't need to purchase anything with charts. My cell phone and or galaxy tab can handle that. I like the idea of contour charting my own area (as in the Striker 7 plus sv) and I want side scanning.
The choices are narrowed down to: Garmin STRIKER Plus 7sv, Lowrance Hook2 7 Triple Shot, the Raymarine Dragonfly 7 Pro, and the Humminbird Helix 7.
I'm leaning toward the STRIKER Plus 7sv, seems like more bang for the buck. I'm also toying with spending a bit more and buying the Garmin ECHOPMAP Plus 73sv in case I want to upgrade to panoptix.
My budget has limits and other demands like a trolling motor. I don't want to regret the decision because of poor research, so, any and all thoughts would be more than welcome. Thanks in advance
PS Can anyone recommend a good, not too expensive, 55 # thrust trolling motor?

Thanks for the reply. Does the BlueChart® g2 charts for the coastal U.S. include the Hudson River?

No..only the coast..but if you need more can get additional Lakes and Rivers.
