Default Yamaha Round gauge not reading Lowrance GPS - thus incorrect speed

I have the Lowrance HDS 9 Touch networked to my Yamaha 250 SHO.
I use to get the GPS Speed to show on round gauges - but as of late the speed is incorrect along with economy and the GPS indicator is not lit.

On the Lowrance I'm able to view engine data (such as economy).

Anybody have where I should start?

If needed I can post my current network setup.
I'm not sure if the setting that's messed up is on Yamaha gauge or Lowrance GPS.

Thanks brain-trust

We don't know how you were getting the GPS speed info to the Yamaha -
it might have been via a NMEA 0183 connection
in that case, you might have a wiring issue,
or an incorrect setting on the Yamaha gauge, or an incorrect setting on the Lowrance

or it might be there is a Yamaha "Gateway" which passes GPS speed via NMEA 2000,
in which case there is a problem with the gateway
(although seems unlikely, since you are still getting engine data)

in your shoes, if I knew there was a NMEA 0183 connection,
I would look behind and check the wiring and connections.

And I would check the menu of the Yamaha gauge,
to make sure "speed sensor" is set to "ground" (GPS)

Thanks FWPratt
You've always helped me before.
I can verify that the gauge is set to "ground"

Last year you helped me install one of these (below) and it works great - all data from engine going to lowrance.
I thought that I was reading gps speed from Lowrance - but now I know that I'm not.

OK, so with that connection, your Lowrance gets engine data -
but the Yamaha gauge doesn't get anything from the Lowrance.

so the big question -
Were you seeing "GPS" on the Yamaha gauge previously
?

if so, then, it had to be connected via NMEA 0183
and now you have a problem with the wiring (or possibly, with the Lowrance settings)

Alternatively, if you never saw "GPS" on the Yamaha gauge,
but you had a working speed indication -
then that's a different problem
(although the best fix is to now connect to the Lowrance via NMEA 0183)

I'm betting I never saw GPS before. It may have just been a brand new motor and the little hole wasn't yet clogged giving me a pretty accurate speed.
I'll begin my learning exercise of figuring out how to connect NMEA 0183.
