Re: Furuno 1933C/NT Question

Actually, if it says C-Map NT on the unit it uses the C-Map NT+ cartography, which - I might add - is excellent. If you boat out of South Carolina (?) you might want the NA-C304-Norfolk to Bermuda to...

Re: C-Map support kinda sucks

Hi folks - I am currently at the Ft Lauderdale Boat Show so not really so not fully available here for a few days, but Lowranger: generally you're right, if you're happy with things the way they are...

Re: C-Map support kinda sucks

mboy - I have sent you a PM as well as my personal email address. It is more difficult to do by email due to the number of variables, but let's proceed by regular email rather than through this...

Re: C-Map support kinda sucks

OUCH, this thread title hurts!

mboy - I'm so sorry you had to go through that, and I really can't even explain why! The only thing I can imagine is he wanted to pass you directly to a specific...

Re: AMY from C-map (or anyone from C-map)?

Hi Birdman- I'm back - (thanks for the thought Kamper). Glad Paul jumped in, we were closed the week between Christmas and New Years and I then set off for the Seattle Boat Show as soon as we...

Re: Connecting Furuno GP7000F to a PC?

You need the PC Planner USB Reader, a generic USB reader will not work with the PC Planner software.

Re: Connecting Furuno GP7000F to a PC?

Hi Pete - no, the proprietary USB PC Planner Reader is necessary to view the cartography. You'll be surprised at how inexpensive the package is though - check with your dealer. Retail cost of a...

Re: Raymarine RL 70 Chart graphics disappearing

Ah, yes - Birdman is correct and this may account for some 'blank' areas. Since we do not try to artificially merge charts of different scale levels you may find areas where, for example, a 1:40,000...

Re: Raymarine RL 70 Chart graphics disappearing

Striped - I don't know why this would not completely 'fix' the issue - possibly some other function is involved in what you are seeing.

To find what the actual purpose of the Plotter Mode is, you...

Re: Raymarine RL 70 Chart graphics disappearing

Yes, sounds like the "PLOTTER MODE" - turning it "OFF" actually should completely eliminate the problem!

Re: Standard Horizon CP1000C GPS/FF

My apologies - I really try very hard not to advertise, just help and inform. The fact that the CP1000 uses MAX is a pretty important piece of information when trying to compare units pre-purchase!

Re: Rating chartplotters

Thanks Greg - sounds as if the C-MAP chartplotter that you compared to Bluechart probably had the depth limits set, reducing the depth contours and spot soundings you would see. Many plotters now...

Re: Simrad ?

Nomans - "They use C-Map Max cartography, which you may like less than the Mapsource, but is better in some ways. "
What benefits does Mapsource have over MAX? That's not a challenge - I'm honestly...

Re: Rating chartplotters

A question as well as a note of caution:

Question:
"Bluechart software is clearly the best (at least in the Chesapeake Bay area). It has a lot more detail than the others"
Does it? C-MAP uses...

Re: Standard Horizon CP1000C GPS/FF

The CP1000C uses C-MAP's new MAX cartography, which is excellent: http://www.maxnavigator.com/

Re: Raymarine RL70CRC chart question

BINGO: it's the Plotter Mode.

What happens is, with the Plotter Mode 'ON', you zoom through each and every scale level - regardless of whether there is cartography available at that scale. Turn...

Re: Standard Horizon Gps question

You may also benefit from a chartplotter software upgrade (free) and a cartography card update (reasonable fee), give our Customer Care Department a call for details once you get a hold of it.

Re: Standard Horizon GPS Chartplotter

Actually, while the Standard Horizon CP1000 certainly CAN use NT and NT+ Library cards, it's also MAX cartography compliant! This means nav-aids that flash in their correct sequence and color,...

Re: NauticPath vs Navionics?

You're actually talking more about user friendly hardware than cartography, and if Garmin is that intuitive, too bad they don't use C-MAP!

I can't offer BlueChart screen shots, but send me an...

Re: NauticPath vs Navionics?

I think what Beachpoint may be thinking is the fact that C-MAP and Navionics ARE electronic cartography companies, the two that really set the standard for everyone else.

Lowrance and Garmin, on...

Re: Lake Winnipesaukee Chart

Yes, C-MAP has an excellent, and very popular, electronic chart of Winnipesaukee based on Bizer Chart data.

It can be used in any C-MAP NT/NT+ or MAX compatible chartplotter (by Standard Horizon,...

Re: GP-7000F

The SD-card USB Reader that will enable the PC Planner to be used with Furuno Navnet vx2 and GP7000 units should be released early this summer. I'll keep you posted.
