We got it apart and the cap needs to be replaced. the question is do we need the whole piston assembly or just the cap, seal and rings?

F115 dust seal on trim/tilt?

The dust seal on the power trim/tilt assembly went bad on a 1997 F115 TXRV. He's being told he needs to purchase the entire piston assembly (it's not damaged) as they don't sell the seal/o-rings...

It also says to disconnect power. If you choose to disconnect the shift linkage, MAKE SURE you disconnect power. I've done it both ways but never disconnected the batteries...until the last times...

Seem to recall a "global reset" option somewhere. I had a similar problem and couldn't change rudder type until i found the other reset option. Not sure of the menu path, but worth researching.
