totally agree, the AIS has to transmit the position and vessel MMSI, This, of course, is received by the MFD and plotted accordingly. The way it's supposed to work!

will try ... the boat is twin station, therefore all the equipment. The NMEA 2K network is divided into three sections with power isolators, so I can simply 'power down' sections and give it a try....
