For reef/bottom fishing you need some fourocarbon leader(presentation leader) off you main line.Use a swivel if you have to.On the troll you can prolly get away with rigging directly off the braid...

FG or Bobbin knot are the strongest I believe.I've been using the bobbin the last couple of trips for braid/mono and mono/flouro but it's a bit of a PITA.
