Re: Costa Del Mar Repair

I've had the soft ear pieces replaced couple of times at no charge.Last time I had cracked a lens, they charged me $60 and sent me a new pair of glasses.

Re: 28' carolina classsic repower

If you're looking at Yanmars, Mac Boring is right there near you. I would give them a ring.

Re: waypoint storage

Specs say it only holds 1,500. you might call tech and see, it;s possible there's an update that will expand it for you. 1,500 seems strange since I have a little 276 handheld that holds 3,000.

111-7250 is an out of date VDO model number. Call Autoelectric and they should be able to cross it for you. 800-695-1474.

Re: Bravo III stuck in forward

The Bravo III has a tail section to your shift cable. These usually need to be replaced every 3 years or so. Normally you start to loose reverse before it totally quits on you. You have to drop the...

Re: WHERE CAN I BUY THESE TACHS

I don't know if those are inductive from the fly wheel or altenator driven. The model number will tell you if you don't know off the top of your head. If they are more than a couple of years old the...

Re: WHERE CAN I BUY THESE TACHS

I'd need a little more info to be certain but it should be one of the Tachs listed on page 6 of this catalog. You can get the model number off the back of the tach to be sure.

My Yanmar certied mechanicsuggests Kill Em and the 8+ Cetane booster maybe by FPPF. There are lots of additives out there and you can go crazy trying to decide what to use or not to use. I suggest...

Re: carolina classic outdrive???

Not too much to look at there. The 8.1 will more than likely have a Volvo Duoprop behind it. These boats don't circulate water in the outdrive so no water pump to worry about. Check the oil for...

Re: Furuno vs. Garmin

JFish, not to beat a dead horse, but what kind of trailer do you use? I run a 1,000 watt thru hull on my Carolina and have a huge faring block hanging underneath. I also trailer but I am on a bunk...

Re: Wreck anchors...

They work great for wrecks or rocks. Lots of people make their own from rebar or round stock. Most have an eye at the top and en eye at the bottom of the shank. You can hook your chain to the lower...

Re: Tile Fish

I run a 600L but I have the 1,000 watt thru hull. I would think you'd be able to mark them in 300 ft if you are set up correctly. Normally they aren;t hard to find. Look north of the tuna hole in 250...

Re: BEST DIESEL TOW VEHICLE

Check this guy out. I have bought my last two trucks from him and have been completely happy. No BS at all and my local dealers wouldn;t even get close to his pricing.

Re: Carolina Classic 28 v. Fortier 26

There's no comparison between the 27 and 268 Albie. The 27 is a tank. The 268 is a notoriously tender hull in any kind of following sea.
