The 6 pin toggle switch is a good idea, I just used a relay and it worked out well. Send me a pm and I can send you the diagram, it is very simple.

I hear what you are saying about the size and speed worries. I just put one in the boat we are building and cut it into the bottom of the keel so there is no additional drag. It should work well...

That boat has been working out of Northport since I was a kid. It has been around at least 25 years, the owner always took good care of the boat and didn't beat up on the boat.
