As is always the case, it's greater than 65ft now. In two years they'll ammend it to greater than 40 ft. Two or three years after that it will be greater than 20 ft. This is how gov't works.

My advice would be if you trailer the boat the I/O is fine and if you wet slip the boat then the OB would be the choice.

When it comes time to replace my Alpha I Gen II drive I will definitely replace it with an SEI drive. The complete drive costs no more than a stock Mercruiser lower unit and gets good reviews...

What ocnslr said. You usually go down one size in pitch when you move from a three to a four blade prop. You will find you have more low end control with the four blade as well as a little slower...
