Absolutely. I changed out the surge to Elec/Hyd on mine. Boat is roughly 9500 lbs. Huge improvement. Puts 1600psi of line pressure to the brakes.

I had similar aged Evinrude's. They are thirsty but hard to kill as long as the oil pumps don't crap out. on my Pursuit 2550 with twins at WOT (50mph+) my floscans would read about 35gal/hr EACH!!
