Yamaha 704 ignition/kill switch Gasket.

The gasket on the switch that keeps water out has deteriorated and actually become a messy blob of what looks like melted rubber. I also understand that this is not an unusual occurence after 6...

RE: 26' to 28' Walkaround

Although a good boat, I would not include the HydraSport in my final list based on one significant design flaw. The 26 and 28 Hydra Sports have zero access to the thru hulls on the Port Side at the...

West Marine - 10% off Today + 115% on gift cards

Still doesn't make West cheap, but there is a 10% off anything you order (internet only) sale on today (12/18)...probably a few exclusions.

Perhaps a better option is their gift cards which if...

Re: Who makes the best shallow water sounder?

Here are the secrets to finding the right fishfinder/sounder for shallow water.

1) If you want to read bottom in shallow water, use a single frequency (200 or 235) transducer....do not use a...

Re: Help - No power to my OX66 225hp

I knew the problem would be something really dumb...and my wife was not dissappointed :)

When I had the first sign of a problem, I checked the fuses in the engine....and they were fine. I...

Batteries are fine...I have power in the bilge where the + and - from the motor are attached..and the wires are firmly attached. Emergency lanyard is in place (and I've pulled it off and replaced it...

RE: bilge pumps - need advice

this may be a dumb question, but why don't you just buy a fountain pump at Home Depot/Lowes. They are designed for exactly what you want to do.

RE: Transducer losing bottom

how about installing the transducer inside your hull? It won't be knocked around, it won't lose bottom due to turbulence. In many cases you can just epoxy the transom mount transducer to your hull...

Re: Distress Button on VHF Registration?

Actually, it almost doesn't matter if the coast guard is monitoring yet because all of the boats around you with DSC capable radios are going to get your emergency signal. DSC receiving is always...

Re: Range of Hand held VHF

Unfortunately, there is a wide range of transmission power from handheld VHF's....manufacturers all measure differently and the only proof is testing them. DO NOT BELIEVE THE SPECS. I get 10 miles...

RE: Garmin 3010 - Losing Depth Reading

I would check the connection between the transducer and the GSD 2x box and maybe reroute that same cable. Don't worry about the cable from the GSD2x to the 3010...that's digital and unlikely to be...

Re: garmin 3006c simulation is locked on Help!!

Take the easy path.....bring it back to West and ask them to put the current software on the unit.....Just take in the head...they don't need the whole box full of stuff.

Re: used boat values

Used boats are like houses.......they are much more valuable (on paper) to the seller than to the buyer.

Given gas at $3.00+ a gallon, you might want to try pricing to sell, rather than pricing...

Re: 23ft. Walkaround

You should seriously consider the Pursuit 2470 which is just a little longer but much more boat. If you're going used, you should be able to find a '99 or '00 at the price you'd pay for a 23'.
