pretty sure the xm53 is ethernet not nmea 2000. so it's possible there is no nmea 2000 nework on the garmin. and you just need a simnet to nmea 2000 cable to plug the garmin to the simnet backbone.

those are simrad connectors. That is a nmea 2000 connector. Is the pilot is newer it will be nmea 2000. And any nmea 2000 cable will work. If it’s older it will be simnet. And you’ll need to adapt
