Iíve had various models of the 7.7 JL speakers in my boat since 2009 and have changed them all out at least twice. None are completely bulletproof.

I bet ya itís the protective mesh inside the mic, it gets blocked up with crap over the years and restricts your voice. Should be able to open it up and give it a clean, or discard it.

Appreciate the info Mike, the batteries on the boat in question are up in the console... so it does sound like they have compensated some. You would likely have the transom designed for the 4 strokes...

So thereís really no lifting out of the motor you are just pulling the engine back far enough to allow the steering shaft to lift...

So.... If Iím following your thread correctly, you lifted the motor and steering bracket up and away from the transom bracket which you left behind still bolted to the boat?...
