The tech guy said they still sell the 178c. Tech support is top notch as long as you just buy another unit. Thanks for the input

It does not do what it should do. I have used it in 50' of water and at idle speed it show bottom structure that is 150 feet or more behind the boat. That make it a piece of crap. I have a $100...

I been having trouble with my Garmin GPSMAP 178c.

Just got off the phone with garmin.

I told the tech guy that the fish finder seems to go too slow to use even at idle speed.

I am going to be putting a set of Bennett trim tabs and a new furuno 620 fish finder on my boat. How much distance should there be between the transducer and the trim tab? Is there any other concerns...
