I've seen slightly worse blasted, filled and repainted, and still looking good after a couple of seasons. I'd give it a year of service. If no internal issues appear, then take care of the outside.

My 2005 6.0 is my first diesel, so nothing to compare it with. It moves out quickly. Seems as quick as my 2004 F150 with the 5.4 motor.
